On this day we began by having a tech run of our dance show,
which has been given the name “perception”. In the run not many things went
differently, I did my phrases without noticeable fault and stayed static in my
neutral position when I was not. However, I did notice some areas for
improvement in my piece. In the phrase in which I am the firs in a line I seem
to fall out of time with the rest of my groups later on and fail the first jump
if I accidentally put my left feet behind my right after the reach-turn. I
believe I will be able to rectify this before my performance this evening.
After a break we went into a careers lesson. We were tasked
with finding out the cost of living in the area that we are most likely to go
to or stay in. To do this we need to consider these expenses:
·
Utility cost
·
Rent/mortgage cost
·
Internet/phone/tv cost
·
Food cost
·
Council tax cost
·
Travel cost
I decided that I would find the
costs of my own town: Worthing than anywhere else as I don’t have the desire to
move like some others do. I will also
I looked up the average cost of a
utility bill in the UK. The result is £1344 and shown above.
I looked up the average rent cost
of living in Worthing. The answers above. Since I will only need to accommodate
room for myself only I believe I will only need to rent a room rather than a
flat or even a house. As a result, this will only cost me £5736 per year.
As you can see from this screen shot internet costs
should be about £240 per year. Also due to the rise in internet services I
don’t believe I will need a phone or TV and therefore I will not include the
cost of it in my annual expense projection.
I have already had situation in which I have had to pay
for my own meals for a month. As a result I know I can live on £25 per month or
£300 per year
I have researched how much council tax I would have to
pay for the one room that I am hypothetically renting. As a result, I now know
that I will need to pay £1350 per year for council tax.
Since I am living in Worthing I can easily walk or cycle
to any place in the area as a result I would only need to buy a bike which
costs about £350 however, I will not need to renew every year, which Is
something to consider if I go over budget slightly.
I will now add up all my expenses
·
Utility cost (£1344)
·
Rent/mortgage cost (£5736)
·
Internet (£240)
·
Food cost (£300)
·
Council tax cost (£1350)
·
Travel cost (£350)
Total: £9,320 per year after tax.
I am quite impressed on how much money it
costs to live on a baseline, I believed it would be a lot more. However, it is
worth considering how I am only paying for myself and am not insured at all, I
have not put in costs for going out and socialising or even buying clothes as a
result, I believe I should take this final cost with a large margin for error.
