17/10/17

At the start of the day we started by filling out this half term’s skill tracker. This is what I wrote:

The end of the ecademic year is soon, as a result I was tasked with creating a write up for my skills tracker here is what I wrote:
Every Tuesday I have a carer’s lesson with my teacher Elisabeth. Like last term I have managed to complete every task set by the due date by completing the majority of the work in class and then finishing it outside of it. In this half term I have created a presentation on two potential careers and a financial plan that sets how much money I would need to have basic necessity’s to survive. Unlike last term I am satisfied with the level of detail in all of my tasks in this lesson. Believe that this was due to how I had more time to complete my tasks this term than the previous, and due to how I have improved the rate of which I have completed tasks. To improve I think I need to ask the teacher what I need to make my tasks better; just because I am satisfied with my work does not mean that others are.
As I did last term I give all the physical and mental effort I can in every Dance lesson to try and devise or develop phrases. In this term we managed to finish off the dance piece perception and perform it to an audience, and also create a piece of physical theatre that involves three people. Both of these pieces have been uploaded to YouTube, and watching back on the pieces it is evident that my skill in devising has increased noticeably. However, I can improve more. I should try and focus on feet placing in the future. In the performance of Perception I was not able to do a specific jump right with the rest of the group due to how my left foot was behind my right instead of the opposite. This idea of focusing on feet corresponds with my devising as well. I make movements that mainly involve the upper part of the person and I could expand my capability by using the lower half as well. Also I need to extend more in my reaches in performing as it makes the movements look more purposeful and therefore more professional.
I believe that the vocal unit has been the unit I have succeeded most in. In this term I have built on discussing ideas for hope springs with Rachel and have been able to accomplish all the tasks needed for the unit. Such as: the voice presentation, the table discussing the difference in vocal techniques for three mediums of performance, and of course I was a prominent character in the play Hope Springs . To improve later on I will and focus on what the unit is measuring rather than using my time on tasks which are not needed. Such as the time where I would focus on costumes, set and props in the making of Hope Springs. None of these would have been marked, it was purely evaluated on voice. I have learnt from this and I will not repeat this mistake next half term.
In relation to my blog I believe that I have kept my good standard and possibly have improved the level of detail and analysis that I write in my daily blog recordings. All of the lessons we have I write in the detail that I believe is necessary. One day ( 24/11/17) I wrote over 1100 words due to how I thought I needed to put all the things  necessary to improve the show into my blog, this is an example of how my blog work has been at a better standard than ever and in more quantity than last term . To improve I will try and put the video links onto blogger as soon as possible rather than leaving to a later date, as this will save me time in the long run and also minimise the chance of me wrongfully linking a video.
